Between 2012 and 2015, international reserves in Germany was decreasing on average by 6.67 % each year, although before that, it grew from 111,637 million US dollars in 2006 to 248,856 million US dollars in 2012.

According to the IMF definition, international reserves consist of the sum of the country’s foreign exchange, its reserve position in the IMF, its monetary gold reserves, and the United States dollar value of SDR holdings by its monetary authorities.
